If you are absolutely trying to beat the rain and wish to see everything green the best time of year to visit weather wise is in December and January, when everything is still green, lush and beautiful from the rains, but the sky is clear and you have more sun and the temperature is higher. While other locations on the globe may experience a cold and snowy winter, December in Guanacaste remains warm, with an average high temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you’re thinking about spending a holiday in Costa Rica Thanksgiving might be a good choice. It’s not a Costa Rican holiday so the kids are in school and their parents at work instead of heading to the beaches as is the case on Christmas, New Years and Easter/Spring Break.
