Hot Springs at Arenal Volcano Costa Rica - Bill Beard Costa Rica

Hot Springs at Arenal Volcano Costa Rica With Bill Beard’s Adventure Travel:

Every visitor to Costa Rica should make an effort to visit one of the hot springs in La Fortuna.

Thanks to the Arenal Volcano’s geothermal activity, there is a number of natural hot springs throughout the area. Warm and soothing, these  springs offer visitors an ideal way to relax after a day spent exploring Arenal and participating in one of the many adventure activities in the area.

There are several hot springs in the area that are not located within a hotel and many that are.

Each hot spring facility is unique in its own right – some have both hot and cold pools, others have water slides or swim up bars. Rest assured in the knowledge that wherever you decide to soak, it will be a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

Tabacon Hot Springs & Grand Spa:
The perfect combination of volume, temperature and mineral content that is present in  is unique in Costa Rica and worldwide. Hot springs are considered a natural expression of Earth’s inherent energy. Geologically, Tabacon Resort’s thermal natural springs are 97% rain-based and 3% magma-based. Rainwater enters the earth through fissures on the surface and is then heated by magma found in the earth’s core. Once heated, the waters rise to surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky stratus. The Grand Spa located inside the hot springs is world class and “wonderful”. The Resort is nearby with tram service or a three minute walk.

Eco Termales Hot Springs
Geared towards the privacy of its guests, Eco Termales is the smallest of the Arenal hot springs. It does not accept more than 100 visitors at one time, has four pools of varying temperature (the coldest is 91°F and the hottest is 105°F), and runs a tasty traditional restaurant. Eco Thermales is not located within a hotel.

Titokú Hot Springs
Titokú Hot Springs has eight pools that cascade down a hill and decrease in temperature as they descend. The pools are pleasant and colorfully lit at night. The facility runs a full-service bar and serves a handful of food items. Titokú Hot Springs is not within a hotel but is owned by Arenal Kioro Mountain Resort & Spa that has another hot springs and spa at the resort.
