If you are in the middle then we suggest the class II III Sarapiqui River
You can raft the Pacuare and overnight on the river bank at the Pacuare Lodge, an upscale jungle resort that is only accessible via whitewater raft, earning it the title of one of the top unique lodges of the world by National Geographic. The river rapids on the way to the lodge were class III and were fun, but the class III and IV rapids on the way out were a whole other exhilarating experience.Waterfall Rappelling, (also called canyoneering). This is the original WET N’Wild. After being harnessed up and fitted for helmets, you are given a safety talk and then head up the mountain and began your canyoneering experience. You follow a river deep in the jungle and rappell down several waterfalls, the highest being 200 feet.
Hanging Bridges at Arenal Volcano and Monteverde Cloud Forest are always popular with travelers to Costa Rica. You see the forest from a different perspective looking down on birds, coatis and a sloth and watch howler monkeys in action. You will learn a lot about the flora and fauna of the area and see some breathtaking waterfalls.
This is the ultimate zip line tour. Talk about a rush… This is it.Begin with a gondola ride to the treetops (4,100 feet) and then zip along several incredible cables. The highest is 656 feet above the forest floor and the longest is 2,493 feet long. Guides help you get hooked up with professional gear. After you soar above the rainforest canopy at speeds of over 55 MPH the guides will again help you unhook at each platform. This is high adrenalin adventure. If the cables are wet from the rain you are really lucky as speeds on “Big Daddy” can reach 60 mph. This is the true definition of a rush.
If you are flying out of San Jose you may like to enjoy the world famous Waterfall Gardens & Peace Lodge, This is a lovely spot with adventure & beauty that will not easily be forgotten. Highly recommended for honeymoons and romance get-a-ways.
